Through the first 12 weeks of the 2023 season, the Eagles had a league-leading 10-1 record and were one of the best teams in football in terms of points scored (3rd in the NFL), third-down percentage (3rd), and red zone touchdown percentage (5th). The Eagles lost five of their final six regular-season games, and in Monday night’s Wild Card Round loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they scored nine points, converted no third or fourth downs, and were successful on one of two trips inside the 20-yard line.

The Washington Commanders have officially signed San Francisco 49ers assistant general manager Adam Peters as their general manager, following a thorough yet quick search for a new voice to lead the franchise, the team said on Monday.
Peters, who has been in the 49ers’ front office for seven seasons, has helped construct a roster that many consider to be among the finest in the NFL. During Peters’ tenure in San Francisco, as vice president of player personnel and assistant general manager, the team enjoyed four winning seasons and as many playoff appearances. The 49ers have also won the NFC West in three of the previous five seasons.
