Unfortunate: Rangers v Motherwell injury update shared before Ibrox clash

Rangers have been potentially boosted by the news three key Motherwell players will be absent for Saturday’s (2 March) at Ibrox.

Callum Slattery, Barry Maguire and Harry Paton are all missing for Stuart Kettlewell’s side, with Rangers looking to make it a five-point gap to second-place Celtic who travel to Hearts a day later.

Philippe Clement’s side will be overwhelming favourites, especially given the latest update provided by the visitors.

Rangers face Motherwell side with a few absentees

The fact Motherwell have some key players out of action is a boost to Rangers’ hopes of winning.

However, even if their opponents had a completely clean bill of health, not many sides would fancy taking on the Gers right now with the form they are in.

Philippe Clement’s men are on a roll and are top of the tree above rivals Celtic by two points.

They showed great character in their last outing to come from 1-0 down to beat Kilmarnock 2-1 at Rugby Park after goals by skipper James Tavernier and attacker Tom Lawrence, with the latter managing to score his first goal of the campaign.

Rangers have won their last 11 games in all competitions to rise to the summit and their loss to Celtic in the last Old Firm clash on 30th December was the last time they were beaten which shows how strong they have been so far in 2024.
