The American has often been a struggle for Medvedev in the past but the 28 year-old produced consistent tennis to frustrate the American.
The former US Open champion hasn’t produced his best tennis since his heart-breaking five set loss to Jannik Sinner in the Australian Open and Medvedev will be hoping he can turn his form around in California, where he reached the final last year.
