Jamal Crawford thinks the Suns could surprise everyone in the Western conference.
Since December 27th, the Phoenix Suns have been doing really well with a record of 18 wins and 7 losses. They are now 10 games above . 500 and are the 5th best team in the Western Conference.
This comeback has mostly been driven by their top three players, who have been pretty healthy for the past month and a half. During this season, Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, and Kevin Durant together have scored an impressive average of 74. 5 points per game.
Jamal Crawford, who was on the Phoenix team in 2018, likes what he has seen lately. After beating the Kings on Tuesday, Crawford said that the Suns might become a surprise team in the Western Conference.
In the future, the Suns have the hardest games left to play compared to other teams in the league. Also, they are playing in a tough Western Conference where the teams are really close in the standings.
Right now, the Suns are behind the Nuggets and Clippers by 4 games, the Thunder by 5, and the Timberwolves by 6. It will be tough for them to get a good position for the playoffs.
In ESPN’s newest list of top NBA teams, the Suns dropped to 10th place. McMenamin said the reason for the team’s decrease in performance was because Bradley Beal got injured. He mentioned that even though Phoenix won against Sacramento with a high score of 130-125, Beal only scored five points in that game. However, it wasn’t because he had a bad night. Beal only played for a short time because he hurt his hamstring. The coach said Beal won’t be able to play until after the All-Star break. The Suns are now ranked as the number one team. The injury bug is still a problem in the Western part of the season.
